With great success and participation, the scientific workshop on “Principles and Modern Practices for Sustainable Waste Management: Recycling & Biological Waste Treatment”, was completed on Friday July 5^th 2013 at the Institute of Information Technology AIT. The course was held from July 1^st-5^th 2013 and was co-organised by the Center of Environmental Engineering of Columbia University, New York, WTERT Greece and AIT.

The seminar was organized for the second time in Greece, aiming to examine state-of-the-art technologies for the sustainable management of solid and other wastes. The 5-day workshop focused on new practices evaluating the environmental benefits and impacts, as well as the economic viability of various waste management technologies.
